Mini Palawan Of Cebu, Bojo River of Aloguinsan

Dubbed as "Mini Palawan of Cebu", Bojo River is the most visited tourist spot in the municipality of Aloguinsan. Situated in Midwest of Cebu, Bojo River is operated by Bojo Aloguinsan Eco-Tourism Association (BAETAS) who emerged as the winner of last year's Tourism InSPIRE Award for Best Community-based Tourism Initiative by Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). Together with other Travel and Style Bloggers of Cebu Bloggers Society, FaceCebu Author spent the weekend in this eco-friendly town in just less than 1,000 Pesos expense (each).

So why is it called Mini Palawan of Cebu? I asked some CBS Bloggers who experienced the River Cruise in Bojo and these are some amazing comments:

"It is tagged as mini palawan because aside from its rock formation similarity, you will get to enjoy the marine life by snorkeling and boat cruising. Bojo river also has 22 different mangrove species and 173 different residential birds." said SuperCebu.com Blogger, Guada Cuizon.

Just like its meaning "River Ceiling", Bojo River indeed gives us a mini view of what it looks like to experience Palawan adventures. In the end of the less than an hour River Cruise is the horizon of Tañon Strait, which lies between the islands of Negros and Cebu. In this area of the cruise, you can see the beautiful Mt. Kanlaon of Negros with your naked eyes.

Siesta and Dip at Hermit's Cove



After Bojo River adventure, we then headed to the white sand spot of Aloguinsan, Hermit's Cove. Just like Bojo River, it is also managed by BAETAS which in fairness to the organization, they were able to maintain the beach in terms of cleanliness and tourists/visitors' management. There was an orientation before going down to the beach shore.  If you are going there solo, it's okay not to bring foods or baon since there is a mini-carenderia or store near the receiving area which you can buy foods and beverages. Note, you cannot bring alcoholic drinks inside the Beach premises. Generally, aside from the white sand (not fine) and clear blue water, Hermit's Cove suggests to Tourists to have chill session while enjoying your friends' company.

HOW TO GO TO BOJO RIVER 
1. From Cebu South Bus Terminal, ride a bus bound to Aloguinsan Cebu. Fare : PHP 70-80.00
2. Asked the Driver or Conductor to drop at Aloguinsan Tourism Office
3. From Aloguinsan Tourism, pay your River Cruise and Hermit's Cove adventure/entrance.
Bojo River Cruice - PHP 400 which includes entrance, 1 hour and 30 minutes river cruise and swim.
Hermit's Cove - PHP 100 as entrance fee
4. From Aloguinsan Tourism Office, get a motorcycle going to Bojo River. PHP 20.00

Chilling In Cebu's Best Garden Hotel, Montebello Villa Hotel

When in Cebu, we'll get a lot of choices where to stay. There are 3-5 star Hotels, Hostels, Inns, Apartments or Resorts but what really matters to us (Travelers and Tourists) is the comfort and serenity of the place. A place which we can call "Home away from Home". Those luxurious features are just add-ons to what we are really looking for in that place. Luckily, Cebu's only Garden Hotel, Montebello Villa Hotel can give everything - what we really need when in Cebu! Situated in the heart of the Queen City of the South, Montebello Villa Hotel hosted the first meeting and get together of Cebu Bloggers Society Board Of Trustees (BOT) and Executive Officers. It was a weekend worth an ink in our Diaries.

It was a gloomy afternoon when we met at the hotel lobby. Those smiles and "Hi-Hellos" of our dear Blogger friends made the afternoon cozy. We waited for our Room to be ready while we enjoyed Montebello's welcome drinks. During check-in, some afternoon sweet treats surprised our taste buds inside our Premier Poolside Room - it was an afternoon of chocolates and cookies - such delights! Beside a semi-private pool was my Room for that weekend. It is located in the second floor and gives a perfect view of the clear swimming pool and the lush garden of the Hotel. For the interiors, I love how those fruity colors compliments the fragrance and coolness of the room. The Poolside Deluxe can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children that are 11 years old and below. A third adult/child staying is subject to an extra person charge.

On Saturday night, I needed to go out to attend a work-related event thus leaving my Blogger Family feasting their first meal, a themed dinner especially prepared for Cebu Bloggers Society. Luckily, I came late Eight in the evening and was able to catch up with them while attending our first ever BOT Meeting at the Banquet. We discussed a lot of topics while we enjoyed each others company and some booze courtesy of Montebello Villa Hotel's the Glass Treat. How about an unlimited cocktails such as Mojitos or Wine while our ears feasting the live acoustic entertainment offered at the La Terraza, just near the poolside?! That's what we call Saturday Night!

On a very fine Sunday morning, we woke up happily and excited to explore some picturesque areas of the Hotel. But first, together with three CBS Bloggers, we joined the early Yoga by the Garden. It was a release! We ended up feeding ourselves into some healthy choices of buffet breakfast by the Pool. The Healthy Starters Menu was introduced to us and we couldn't help but adore those healthy drinks such as Stress Buster and Energy Buster. Yes, those names tell it all!

Siesta time was arranged to us - just normal resting in each of our rooms. Just couldn't leave my room, I love it very much - wishing my room at home definitely looks like in Montebello Villa Hotel. We were called around two in the afternoon as our Healthy options lunch was already prepared in the side pool by La Terraza. Saw some vegetables, fruits, and seafoods in the table and we were already salivating!

VIDEO: An Assault In McDonald's IT Park

Yesterday, Mia Adarna, a resident of Cebu, visited McDo IT Park with her friends but encountered an assault from whom she called "psycho man" who allegedly threw some ice to them. Read the full story below with video embedded.

Crazy psycho approached us, called us obscenities, threw ice on us, assaulted, slapped and hit my friend all to APPARENTLY 'teach us a lesson' in McDo IT Park. Yet he refuses to admit he was wrong because apparently he HIT us as a form of discipline. BEWARE OF THIS PERSON


FULL STORY:
This started when our friend almost fell of the stairs while wearing heels, of course she screamed while we tried to catch her. This crazy guy (and his friends) shouted at us and told us to stop screaming. Of course, we kept quiet because it was our fault, but when we passed by they clearly said it in a volume for us to hear "Mga igat. This is not a park". Later when we sat on our table, they started making noises to apparently annoy us. We didn't mind them (as we were around 10 people of course there would be noise) After a series of parinig-rinig, this guy approached us and started screaming profanities making their point that they're older and we dont have the right to fight back. His way of confronting us was really out of context because he just called us names (couldnt even understand what he was saying) and started hitting our friend and flipping the table. Mind you, despite all the hittings, throwing of ice and slapping, NONE OF US TOUCHED HIM. THINGS LIKE THIS SHOULD BE DEALT IN A CIVILIZED MANNER. Why couldn't they just talk to us properly instead of physically harassing us? ASSAULT IS ASSAULT esp if we did not not do anything to hurt them.

Uber Launches Cash Payment to Cebu, Offers 50% Off To Riders

Uber, the world's leader of ridesharing app, announced the availability of cash payment options to all Cebu Riders starting Friday, July 8. Together with more or less 25 Cebu Bloggers, Uber came to Cebu to officially unveiled the good news to Cebuanos and Cebu Tourists. This makes Cebu, the first province in the Philippines to offer the convenience of Cash Payments to all Riders.

"We know that more and more riders in Cebu are choosing Uber because of its safe, affordable, and convenient rides," said Uber Philippines General Manager, Laurence Cua. "We hope the introduction of new payment optons, like cash, will give riders more choices to enjoy and pay for their Uber rides." he added.

Few months ago, Pokemon Go, a mobile game application was launched here in the Philippines and people went crazy. It was the topic of every Netizens which gave them ideas on who or what to wear during Halloween. Just like in Crown Regency Hotel and Towers, Kids dressed up in their favorite Pokemon characters such as Pikachu or our fave trainer, Ash Ketchum during their Halloween Party. It was an afternoon full of Treats, not just Tricks!

The event started with an introduction with participants and a short dance number from Crown Regency Staff. "Cutie Patoties" were all around the room - you cannot handle their cuteness! And to add some spice, Crown Regency Chef designed a delicious and pokemon-themed snacks and sweets over the buffet table. After lunch, exciting games were introduced such as "Who's that Pokemon" where the host flashed a picture of pokemons and cuties rushed to the stage to name them. All I thought millenials won't know about this stuff but I was amazed to know these kids even know the Pokemon names! After such, an educational live bird show was performed. Indeed, kids and "kids at heart" were entertained.

The first weekend of November has been a colorful start of the most anticipated season of the year, the Yuletide Season. It is known to all that Filipinos always reserve a very long celebration for Christmas holiday most especially here in Cebu as we are doing it until the third week of January, during Sinulog Festival. It's a Swimwear presentation and not competition! On January 2017, JPark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu will host a one-day event of Miss Universe 2016, the swimsuit presentation. On a big Sinulog Festival week, Mr. Arthur Lo, the hotel's corporate liaison officer, affirmed that all candidates of Miss Universe 2016 will come to Cebu for a Swimsuit presentation which includes a Fashion Show that highlights Cebu's talents and designers.

Mr Lo also added that JPark will come only as a Venue and the rest of the program specifications will come from Miss Universe Organization. In regards to security of the Hotel and the candidates, Lo confirmed that they are on the progress of coordination with Local Government Units and other Security sectors that will help in the success of the anticipated event next year.

Train With Creative Magnate Institute

It was exactly two weeks ago when my manager suggested to HR that I will be participating in a training. I'm currently working at night shift and during that time, I still remember how my brain responded silently when I read that recommendation email. The subject said "Invitation: Leadership with Backbone and Heart". It was indeed an interesting subject but I think due to a lack of sleep and my brain had no sufficient oxygen inside it, I just calmly said " yes, I will try this."

Joining more or less 30 employees, I attended the 2-day supervisory training at TMX Philippines Inc. That special event was organized by our very supportive Human Resources Training and Development team and was handled by Creative Magnate Institute. It was not a serious-type of training because it eventually faded all those sleepless nights and tiresomeness I had. Okay, to put the record straight, what i mean on a "not a serious-type of training" is the type of education that the organizers inject to the participants were done through games and drama or stage play - which is completely very good! During my high school years, I used to attend leadership training and I admit it, those bored me to death. But this one, didn't! Kudos to our HR for selecting Creative Magnate!

After the training, there's one thought that kept on playing on my head, "Leadership is someone who can bend down so that other people will rise up and learn how to reach the goal." That moment when Miss Padma Siap, head organizer, flashed a picture of two dogs. One big dog bending down while the cute puppy standing in his rear part while reaching someting on the table - it's leadership! Ms Padma's team had a great job role playing some good and bad traits of a leader. Actually, there are ways on how to deal this kind of leader and how to be an assertive leader than an agressive one. As a leader, I was amazed to know that there are some trash thoughts that we need to remove from our head before planning or dealing with our people. And some of these I remember what a leader should be.

Then of course, you won't be called a leader if you don't have people. There are many types of followers such as the minimalist, gossiper, soap opera star ( who has all the drama in the world), the nega ( who are very negative in every aspect of a follower), the neutral, know it all, to name a few. But a leader should know how to treat each of these people. Even those problematic subordinates will feel happy if they know that they are part of a specific goal that team needs to achieve. How much more if they know that they had done something to fulfill it? A leader should know how to assertively manage a team. He should act as a real leader and not an agressive boss.

But of course, those amazing training that Creative Magnate was sharing to the employees won't remain a trash if not properly absorbed and applied. It was a cold night of the fifteenth when everybody gathered at Mactan Cebu International Airport for a very late schedule of flight. We arrived safely early in the morning at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport via Cebu Pacific Air. We were welcomed by our hospitable driver and guided us to our hostel, the most recommended accommodation in Taipei - Taipei Sunny Hostel. Note that Taipei is a "no-english" language country. It is best to install some translator application or maybe use Google Translator for easy communication with the locals. We then found a cheap breakfast stall which is a stone-throw from our place. Attractions:: To get a best view of Taipei 101, you need to climb Elephant Mountain before 4-5 PM for a sunset and night view of Taipei City. Elephan Mountain is known as Nangang District Hiking Trail and Xiangshan, the hiking trail is located close to the Xinyi Shopping District and Taipei 101.
