Situated in the northern tip of Cebu, Carnaza Island is another "Visayan Gem" less traveled. This turtle-shaped island deserves our attention especially this Summer. If you read blog articles about it and recommending you to stay at Eco-Park, then you should read this article further as Carnaza Island is not just about the said park. During the long weekend, I was able to visit and experience the amazing Carnaza island together with Cebu Bloggers Society Friends. I gained friends from the Local and explored the "Buhis buhay" tourist spots in the island.

2. Donna's Cave - When we visit there, it has no name per the locals so we started calling it Donna's Cove. Donna is the beautiful little girl who accompanied us to this amazing view which is part of Liog-Liog Beach.

05:30 AM : Take the first trip of Ceres Bus to Maya ( Fare: PHP 219) If you come from any part of Cebu, take a cab or jeep going to North Bus Terminal of Mandaue City.

10:00 AM : Arrival in Tapilon Port

10:30 AM : Boat to Carnaza Island ( Fare: PHP 200 )

2:00 PM : Late Lunch (Contact Councilor Gigi Camino to get a cheap yet affordable Carenderia in the Island. Budget: PHP 100-150)

3:00 -5:00 PM : Tent set-up at Ka-Ilina Beach ( Space Payment : PHP 100/head)

5:00 -6:00 PM : Siesta time and Beaching.

First Day Expenses: PHP 619.00

10:00 - 12 Noon : Carnaza Island Tour ( Motorcycles are available everywhere with a fare of PHP 300, you can tour three different spots in the island which includes Liog-Liog Beach, Skull Cove and Ka-Ilina. But if you're staying at Ka-Ilina, then you can just pay PHP 250 for a motor ride. )

12:30 PM: Lunch at Psalms Restaurant (PHP 150)

1:30 PM - 5:00 PM Island hopping ( Book a boat for a group of 6 (PHP 1, 700) and Hop to La Manok islet and Dakit-Dakit. This means PHP 285 each person)

Second Day Expenses : PHP 785.00

12:15 PM : Lunch Time ( Go to Sto. Nino Carenderia. PHP 50-100)

TIPS, RECOMMENDATIONS & CONTACT NUMBER

TIPS:

On your first day, take the first trip from North Bus Terminal To Maya (6:00 AM is the best and ideal time to travel)
If you travel alone, wait for more passengers at Tapilon Port for a cheaper fare. Also, while waiting, you can grab a lunch at any Carenderia in the area.
Ask for a big plastic bag from the Boat operator so that you can secure your personal belongings or bags inside it.
While taking the boat to Carnaza island, better choose the rare part (near the driver/operator) so that you will not/less wet your things or yourself.
Upon Arrival, look for Councilor Gigi and asked to arrange a place at Ka-Ilina Beach. Note, it will just cost you PHP 100 per person for three days and two nights stay at beach front.
For Breakfast and Lunch, you can go to Psalms Restaurant (across a non-Catholic Church and near Ka-Ilina Beach). Their menu is cheap and they can cook fast.
For Dinner, contact Councilor Gigi and asked to arrange a dinner with his sister-in-law who has a mini-carenderia.
There is a solar electricity in the island so it is best for travelers to bring Power Bank and Flash lights during the stay. But in the morning, you can go to Psalms Restaurant to charge your electronics gadgets while eating. In addition, the owner who is a pastor is very friendly that you can take a shower in just PHP 25.00 and use their bathroom for free.
During your Motor Island Tour, do not include ka-Ilina in your itinerary and choose only Skull Cove and Liog-Liog Beach for just PHP 250. But if you have a partner, you will just pay PHP 125 each in one trip of motor ride.
During Motor Island tour, spend more time at Liog-Liog Beach as it has all the instagrammable spots that Carnaza Island can offer.
During your visit at Skull Cove, you can take a dip with friends there after visiting the famous Cave with skulls and other scary stuff.
During Island Hopping, look for Councilor Gigi or look for locals boaters who can give at least PHP 1,700 fare for La Manok and Dakit-Dakit Islets.
During your quick visit at La Manok, don't forget to take a swim and take a lot of shots. The islet is beautiful.
During your quick visit at Dakit-Dakit Islet, make sure to watch your steps because there is a number of "Walo-Walo" or Sea snakes which are dangerous. But the place is not scary. In fact, it is good for Pre-nup photoshoots.
For Sunset shots, you can stay at Ka-Ilina and grab your cameras.
Do not travel alone, better with partner or the more the merrier. And this means, cheaper expenses.
Lastly, do not book a tent at Eco-Park, not worth it. Most people who stayed at Eco-Park have expressed their "WOWs" at Ka-Ilina Beach. So, you know what to do.
For Data Connection, Smart and Sun are intermittent but during midnight and early morning, 4G is available at Ka-Ilina Beach.

I never thought Friday the 13th is a lucky day! Aside from the fact that it's a Salary Day for workers around the Country, I also considered this day as "UNO the 13th Break!" It may sound irrelevant but hear me out. Earlier, I visited one of my fave buffet restaurant in the Metro, Cafe UNO of Watefront Mactan. After a long and tiring week, I bet a Dinner break at Cafe UNO is a much needed culinary escapade that everyone should try to celebrate and to satisfy one's cravings. Cafe UNO Restaurant got it all covered for you!

Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark Panglao Boholis the next big thing that Bohol or even in the entire country can offer . Last Saturday, JPark held a grand ground breaking Ceremony at the 20-hectare property in Panglao, Bohol in which the Biggest and Grandest Waterpark Resort in the Philippines, JPark Panglao will be built. The momentous event was led by Philippine BXT Corporation President, Mr. Justin Uy and was attended by various Political personalities in the Visayas.

Set to be finished by 5 years, Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark Panglao Bohol will hold its operation in an earlier date, year 2021 to be exact. After the closure of Boracay Island, there is a big opportunity for Bohol to get the tourists and locals attentions most especially at the lovely Panglao island. In addition, the Panglao Airport will be opened earlier this year and this means, a chunk of increase of Travelers will visit Bohol before the end of the year.

The Experience

It's too early to judge but so far, PLDT Home Fibr passed my requirements as a Blogger and researcher. Also, swimming pool is available if you wish to get a dip - not in the beach. I'm not an expert of such game but their Golf Course is very wide and huge. I mean, we need to ride a van going to the top where the game starts. Also, the bird's eye view of Dakak Park and Beach Resort can be taken from there with your smartphone only - not with drone. Such an amazing property they got there.

I got a good personal experience at The Spa. I came late in the afternoon after a sumptuous lunch at the Bamboo. The receptionist was very accommodating. I got the room for two which very is spacious filled with loosening fragrance - I definitely love the smell. Not to mention the Masseurs' perfect and professional services. If you want to try their Spa, I personally recommend Dakak's version of Relaxing Swedish Whole Body Massage in just PHP 1,200. After a perfect 1 hour of rest, you can enjoy a set of recharging afternoon ginger tea plus cookies and chocolates served in your room.

I could not say no to my favorite Crabs, Shrimps and other seafood dishes. Not to mentioned the pork Barbecue and delicious Lechon served as the center of attraction. EXPERIENCE:
Going to Dapitan is easy and comfy with GPLines. We missed to get the Tourist type of accommodation going to Dapitan but we got the air-conditioned Yellow Economy type. I don't actually slept during travel time especially via boat coz I got this weird feelings but no, that weekend is an exemption. While my Cebu Bloggers Society friends are enjoying each other company with chit-chats, I was in my sleeping deck resting like a log. How much more when we were lucky to get the Tourist type of accommodation going back to Cebu on Sunday? The email has a subject "Amazing Mothers Photo-Essay Contest" and as a Blogger, I got excited! Yes, I wanted to join not just because I love writing but I wanted to make an article about Mother's Day. But later while writing my 200-words Essay, I realized I wanted to join to express my feelings to all Mothers out there, most especially to my Mama. It's not easy to be a Mom, here's why!

“Ma, asa nimo gibutang akong shorts?” No, I was not six or seven years old when I asked that line. I was already twenty-one with the intellect of doing everything I want. Why do I keep on asking that? I’m fourth in the siblings of six and no, I’m not a spoiled son. It just happens that ever since I’m dependent to my crazy mother!

As crazy as coming with me in my Elementary years.

As crazy as following me in my JS Prom Night.

As crazy as waking up early and served as my Human Alarm.

As crazy as reading my Resume even though she is an Elementary undergrad!

Now, I’m Thirty-one, I already understand why she did those crazy stuff.

She was “crazy” to accompany me everyday in my Elementary life to assist me with a bag of heavily loaded books.

She was “crazy” following me in my JS Prom to ensure my safety.

She was “crazy” waking up early to make sure breakfast was served before I went to my College day.

She was “crazy” reading my Resume because she wanted to show her support before I head to my Job interview.

I’m crazy not realizing that earlier. I’m proud and I love my “crazy” Mama.

Staycation has been a thing since the Millennial era. And of course, I've been a fan for this kind of travel vacation most especially if I'm exhausted at work or eagerly want to explore the features that the Hotel is offering. But last weekend, it was a memorable Rumah Highlands Hotel staycation for two reasons; Japanese Hospitality at its best and the hotel is located at the top of Cebu City's highland - breathtaking view is waiting!

ACCOMMODATION

I came late afternoon at Rumah Highlands Hotel. It was gloomy but a little bit of sunshine. I thought it's hard to find the hotel but it is just near the highway. Another plus to travelers!

How to get there? If you're coming from anywhere in Cebu, you can:

a. ride a taxi/grab car going to Rumah Highlands Hotel
b. ride a jeepney going to JY Square Mall then ride a motorcycle (Habal-habal) going to Rumah Highlands Hotel.

So after check-in, I decided to get some photos first. I explore the Infinity pool in the second floor just near the reception which makes the area appealing to the visitors. Then to their Lima Restaurant and Lima Bar at the 9th floor that gives stunning view of Cebu City. How much more the Ange Spa at the 10th floor? More details below.

After all papers, I then decided to have a mini-tour of my Junior Room at the 6th floor. The room is huge for one person only. It has a clean and refreshing view of the City. Not to mention, the room has a complete set-up from mini bar to organic toiletries, Fully Air-Conditioned, IDD/NDD, LCD Television with international cable channels, Safety Deposit Box, Coffee and Tea Facility, Hair Dryer, Hot and Cold shower, and a bath tub. Intro Rate is 2888++ nett per night.

But the most amazing of all, their bath products are all organic! Yes, you read it right, organic which is very good for our skin and hair.
