Cebu Taxi Driver Caught On Camera While Masturbating!

Last August, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago has filed Senate Bill 1206 or commonly known as Taxi Passenger Bill of Rights. What are the contents of this Bill? This bill seeks to acknowledge the rights of taxi passengers and penalizes both driver and the operator of the taxi cab who violates these rights, check this LINK for details. “There are too many disturbing reports of taxi drivers and operators who take advantage of their passengers, from mere discomfort or discourtesy to robbery and physical harm. It’s high time this transport sector shapes up,” said Sen. Miriam in Philstar article.

This Taxi Passenger Bill of Rights encourages every Taxi Drivers to be courteous and help to their passengers. But what if a taxi driver is caught of masturbating while passengers are in the backseat? Is it considered to be courteous? We believe, this is some kind of a women's harassment, right? This horrific act was experienced by Ms. Jessica Atas yesterday night. Fortunately, she was able to take a video of the said taxi driver who was masturbating - this is a good evidence! Even though, police advised her not to upload the said video, she is afraid that her family or friends might experienced the same.

Video Caption, "I WANT HIM BEHIND BARS. The driver was masturbating in front of me. There was an alcohol-like scent inside the cab I felt really dizzy and I was already expecting to pass out anytime soon that's why I immediately jumped out of the cab while it was running. The Chief of police told me not to upload the video until this person gets caught but my conscience can't take it if there's going to be another victim and I didn't do anything to warn as many people as possile. I'm doing this not only for me, but for everyone who is at risk of experiencing what happened to me earlier. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. THIS IS NOT FOR FAME. THIS IS A WARNING TO EVERYONE. God Bless and let us be more cautious and observant! I am the first victim here in Cebu. I hope I will be the last one too."

To show sympathy, a Cebu Fashion Blogger, Eden Villarba, shared the said video in her wall with captions, "As someone who has personally experienced various forms of verbal abuse and near-sexual threats from cab drivers (I've always shared my cab-driver-cussing-at-me chronicles here), I find this the most appalling of all. I feel horrible for Ms. Atas and I commend her bravery for being able to take actual video proof. Seriously though-- there should be stricter laws regarding who and what's deemed "fit" to drive taxis and PUVS. Is the government or taxi companies doing anything about this?! Gah this is so distressing"

Now, what would our very own Police and Government do about this? We believe this getting rampant nowadays! What you say?

After Yolanda: 10 things Filipinos SHOULD be doing on Social Networks

November 8, 2013 - Typhoon Haiyan or locally known as Yolanda left a horrific scene in Central Visayas most especially in the affected areas of Tacloban, Samar, Leyte, Ormoc and Northern part of Cebu. This resulted to thousand of deaths and affected millions of people and damaged thousands of houses, public buildings and infrastructures.

But despite of this natural disaster, Filipinos still manage to stand up and bring the "Bayanihan" spirit to the country. Following Dr. Stef dela Cruz's article in allvoices.com, FaceCebu.Net compiled it's version and this time, here are the 10 things Filipinos SHOULD be doing in their Social Network(Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) accounts.

1. Post or Repost Relief Campaign Information. What best we can do online is to post verified information and details on how to help the survivors or victims of Typhoon Yolanda. Share into your wall the drop-off centers, contact numbers and addresses to which donation can be sent.

2. Encourage Netizens to Donate. With your hundreds or thousands of followers, at least you can push Ten or twenty people to donate basic commodities such us rice, canned goods, biscuits, medicines, water and some clothes (which can be used) in the most nearest drop-off center.

3. Invite Online Friends to join Relief Campaign. Private Sectors and other organizations who initiated this campaign need volunteers. Volunteers who can pack ready-to-eat goods and be of service in any terms which are related to this activity.

4. Ask Friends to join Package Distribution. If they are available and for sure they are, they could actually help in distributing the donated packages - if your friends trully care.

5. Spread Updates of your supported Relief Campaign. Yes, monitor on where those donated goods are being distributed. Let your friends know and spread the updates up to the friends of your friends.

6. Post Photo or Status of Encouragement. What are these photos or statuses of encouragement? These are pictures taken during the relief campaign or photos of heroic deeds during the rescue operations in affected areas. Post a status or words of encouragement to let the people feel that they are strong and they are not alone on this tragedy. Also, to encourage others to follow and join this works of Mercy.

7. Share Survivors' list. Help people who are longing for their families or relatives who might be victims of this Super Typhoon. There are available services online like:

Google Person Finder
DSWD Disaster Mitigation and Response Situation Map,
Official List of Casualties,
Websites with list of Typhoon Yolanda Survivors and other means (Check this list).

8. Comfort Victims and Affected families and Friends. We should sympathize on their loss. Provide comments which can help elevate their social, spiritual and morale.

9. Change your Profile Picture or Cover Photo. Why change? No biggie but at least show to your friends what "sympathy" means or at least no "selfie" moments here. Change your photos into useful slogans, hashtags or other words used to uplift the spirit of affected Filipinos.

10. Lastly and most importantly, Pray. No matter what Religion we are part of, it's faith that we are united. So, keep on praying for the souls of the dead victims.

Generally, if you think our Government has nothing in it's plate for the Typhoon Victims, then we, as individual shall do something - not tomorrow but today!

Student Kids Around The World Risk Lives In Going To School

A very long Holiday vacation is over and here in the Philippines, students from different levels are already preparing for their School comeback later today.  Some of these students are excited to be back. They even posted some photos of them captured from their classrooms  and other statuses stating their excitement in going back to their beloved universities. But even thoughChristmas and New Year vacations have already ended, Students here in Cebu are not yet done as the fever for Sinulog 2014, the grandest festival in the country, has just started. FaceCebu.Net author has been seeing statuses in his Social Media News feeds stating some complains or unhappiness that Schooling is back. Are youngsters nowadays really that insensitive?

Don't they know that thousands (if not Million) children out there have no chance of going to school and suffered early labor to finance their families? Or worst, there are Student kids from other Countries who would risk their lives just to be in School - we even have this situation here in our Country.  Now check these brave Children from other countries.

Let's start from the mainland China, posted in Telegraph UK, Children walked along a narrow mountainous road just to be at Banpo Elementary School in Bijie, southwest China's Guizhou Province. (Photo credit: HAP/Quirky China News / Rex Features )

Still in China, specifically in Gangluo County, Sichuan Province, Teacher Li Guilin helps children climb one of five rickety wooden ladders to reach their school on a cliff 2,800m above sea level (Photo credit: HAP/Quirky China News / Rex Features )

To get to school each day children living in a mountainous village in China have to cross a valley hundreds of metres deep on a rickety, homemade cable car. Villagers who live in Decun village in southwest China's Guizhou Province used to have to make the journey on foot, which took five hours, but in 2002 local man Hui Defang built a simple cableway. Picture: Quirky China News / Rex Features

Zhao Jihong and her four-year-old daughter Zi Yi cross a broken bridge in the snow to get to school in Dujiangyan, Sichuan Province, China. Shawan village's only connection to the outside is a wooden bridge. However, this bridge was damaged by flooding, leaving it extremely precarious and leaning dangerously to one side. In Pintu Gabang, Indonesia, check this boy climbs across a 30 feet flowing river  to get to School. (Photo credit: Panjalu Images / Barcroft Media )

Still in Indonesia, A school child crosses an aqueduct that separates Suro Village and Plempungan Village in Java, Indonesia. The children decided to use the aqueduct on their journey to school as a shortcut, even though it wasn't made for people to walk on. Picture: Panjalu Images / Barcroft Media

In another Indonesian village of Sanghiang Tanjung, children living on the wrong side of of the Ciberang River has to cross a broken suspension bridge to reach the other side where their school is located. Faced with an extra 30 minutes' walk to cross via an alternate bridge, the children have chosen to undertake the precarious crossing of the collapsed bridge instead. In Vietnam, dozens of young children from grade 1 to grade 5 swim twice a day across the river in order to get to school at Trong Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district. In order to keep the clothes and books from getting wet, the students put them in large plastic bags and tightly sealed while crossing the river almost naked. Caption by amusingplanet.com Photo Credit: eyedrd.org

In Nepal, Children use handcrafted bridges made with planks, improvised ropes and pulleys, without safety harnesses and double security restraint. Caption by amusingplanet.com Photo Credit: justgiving.com

In Columbia, kids from a handful of families living in the rainforest, 40 miles southeast of the capital Bogota, commute via steel cables that connect one side of the valley to the other. This is the only way to reach school. The steel cables are 800 meters in length are strung 400m above the roaring Rio Negro.  Caption by amusingplanet.com Photo Credit: guardian.uk

Finally, here in the Philippines, School children used an inflated tire tube to cross a river to go to a public school in Rizal province east of Manila, Philippines, on Oct. 12, 2012. Caption and Photos by nbcnews.com

Now, are you still complaining of waking up so early, taking a bath and even arguing with your parents just not to go to School? Seeing above photos, are we not fortunate enough? We should be thankful of what we have now and what privileges we are embracing as a student. What do you think?

HERE ARE THE INTERNATIONAL ACTS:

CHRIS LAKE

'Helium' by Chris Lake featuring Jareth is out now at iTunes: http://smarturl.it/Helium

Over the past six years, English producer and DJ Chris Lake has traveled the globe indulging his audience in the deeper throngs of electronic music. With crossover hits such as ‘Changes’, ‘La Tromba’, ‘Only One’, ‘Sundown’ and ‘If You Knew’ as well as presence in the darker and deeper side of electronic music, Chris has become known as a ‘champion of creative freedom’.

Signed to a worldwide deal with NY-based imprint Ultra Records, his most recent releases include ‘Black Thong’, (a collaboration with producer Michael Woods), and other single ‘Ohh Shhh.’ A career which is split in two with a major focus for Chris as the head honcho for his label, Rising Music.
Rising has become an avenue to grow and support young and talented artists, and Lake has proved his A&R skills by signing talents such as Nom de Strip and TJR.

Chris plans on spending 2013 continuing to tour the world, as well as releasing new music as a producer and supporting the acts on his imprint Rising Music.

STARKILLERS

As the USA’s dance music scene continues to come of age on a widespread scale and different styles proliferate and evolve, new talents are coming thick and fast. Only a few have the staying power to go the distance, however.

Formerly known as Nick Terranova, U.S talent Starkillers has been cutting a swathe through the bolshier end of the global house music scene with his tough-edged, eclectic sound. Blending big hooks and riffs, soaring vocals, thumping beats and mind-bending effects trickery, his sound is the perfect blend of high-octane, fierce energy and accessible appeal. It’s truly at home amidst the contemporary sound of cutting-edge dance music.

BOBINA

The Producer: Taking the name from the Russian word for a reel-to-reel tape, Bobina sprang to life in Moscow in 2003. Moving the act swiftly towards its first album, he released his freshman long-player, ‘Catchy’ in 2004. Bobina’s sound spread wildfire-like across his home country, turning ‘Catchy’ into the country’s first #1 electronic dance album. ‘Lazy World’, the first single taken from it was signed to the DeepBlue label in the UK and marked the first international step in Bobina’s career. In 2005 Dmitry followed this up with the vocal anthem ‘September Rain’ under the moniker Zenon. With A-list DJs Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, and Paul Oakenfold wasting little time in picking up on the track, it was signed to the NewState/Maelstrom music group for a UK release. This deal ultimately paved the way for Dmitry to sign Bobina to the highly respected imprint. His 2006 follow-up album ‘Beautiful Friend’ posted week-1 sales in Russia of over 10,000 units and the video for the single of ‘Beautiful Friend’ made the Russian and the UK’s MTV network hotlists. After taking time out to begin establishing himself as a remixer (see below), in mid-2007 Bobina pushed forward with production on his third album, ‘Again’. ‘Lighthouse’, the first single taken from it enjoyed heavy airplay across Europe and earned Bobina the ‘Most Rotated Artist’ accolade at 2007’s RDMA’s (Russian Dance Music Awards). ‘Slow’ - an electro-trance cover of the Kylie Minogue hit - followed it in April 2008 and set the scene for the release of ‘Again’ the following month. Selling over 40,000 units in the first 3 months of release, it became Russia’s best & fastest selling electronic dance album to date. It has gone on to spawn the singles ‘Invisible Touch’, ‘Time & Tide’, ‘Lighthouse’ & ‘Honestly’. In September of 2009 the album for followed by ‘Again Remixed’. Featuring reworks of all the album’s tracks, it prompted DJ/producers like Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery,Sean Tyas & First State to contribute reworks. In November both ‘Again’ and ‘Again Remixed’ were re-packaged to form a 2xCD set ‘Again – The Special Edition’ for the UK’s Maelstrom Records label. This made Bobina the first Russian electronic music artist to release an album outside their home country. Most recently with ‘Rocket Ride’ - his fourth studio album - Bobina commemorated the 50thanniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s first manned space expedition. In July 2011 the album took flight and saw Bobina dominate both radio waves and club floors with the singles ‘Angel of the North' and ‘You Belong To Me
