A Week of Summer in Dakak Park And Beach Resort

Second half of April, some cousins, relatives and members of Tita's Cathecism organization chose to spend a week of Summer in the scary place of the Philippines, the Mindanao. But guess what? It was not scary at all - it was amazing! We picked the beautiful paradise of Dakak Park and Beach Resortin Dapitan, Zamboanga Del Norte. My manager at work once mentioned how nice the Resort was and wondered how the Resort look today? And of course, who wouldn't be interested to experience Dakak after that commercial made by AlDub (famous Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza loveteam)?

So, why the place called Dakak? While on our way to the Resort, we had a chance to visit Rizal Shrine. During the quick tour, the guide mentioned Dakak stands for "Dagkong Kakahoyan" or Big Trees. In addition to this trivia, Dapitan City is called Historic City of the South. Why not? This City got a lot and is indeed part of the History. Not to mention, this is where our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal was exiled and met her lovelife, Josephine Bracken. Also, in Dapitan lives the smallest person in the whole world. We can see Holy Rosary Cathedral of Dipolog, the City’s century-old cathedral. And of course, most Spanish houses which are reserved until this era.

Visit Bohol Tourist Destinations and Beautiful Spots

FaceCebu (FC) had already visited other Provinces and Islands in the Philippines like Baguio, Boracay, some parts of Mindanao like General Santos, Cagayan De Oro, Zamboanga but failed to experience Central Visayas completely. Not until last weekend, when FC visited Bohol with the help of Travel Blogger, Geezelle Tapangan, who lives in this beautiful island. Now, I'll show you where to go when you have a chance of visiting the land of Tarsiers and Chocolate Hills, Bohol!

1. Alona Public Beach in Panglao Island
This public beach is situated in Alona, Panglao Island and got the Boracay feels. The white sand stretches into the shore but sadly, there were nobody who maintain the cleanliness of the surroundings. The only good thing is restaurants and hotels are available for Locals and Tourists.







2. Visit Sandugo (Blood Compact) in Tagbilaran City
Nothing to expect a lot in this place but if you are a History-Lover then you can relate a lot why it is called Sandugo. Honestly, this is the place to pay tribute and respect to our ancestors in Bohol.





3. River Cruise at Loboc
I've been to two other River Cruises in Bojo Cebu and Dapitan, Zamboanga Del Norte but this Loboc River Cruise is different as it is grand! Their process from reservations to accommodation during lunch buffet and during the cruise is definitely amazing. They also prepare a quick dance presentation from one of the stop during the Cruise. Just one thing that I don't like - their foods are not that great. But the experience is worth it!










4. Twin Hanging Foot Bridge in Sevilla
Okay, all I thought I was that brave as I already conquered Zipline in Lake Sebu and shouted in a Roller Coaster ride in Fantasyland at Glorietta Dapitan but when I set foot in that Hanging Bridge, they shook like omg! But when I was almost near the end point, I did enjoy a lot. This is another must-visit spot of Bohol!







5. Sevilla River Flow
This is not really part of our tour but Geezelle mentioned that there is a cute mini-falls but actually that was a river, Sevilla River. As a nature-lover, there is a satisfaction seeing thus water falling down to the river or it was just me being emotional beast. LOL





6. Tarsier Conservation Area in Loboc.
 Of course, Bohol tour is not perfect without the visit of Tarsier, smallest primate in the world and they are living in Bohol.During our quick visit, we only saw 7 tarsiers but it gave us hope - a hope that this specie will soon be restored from it's endangered stage.




7. Man-Made Mahogany Forest in Loboc and Bilar Towns
This stop is one of my favorites. I just love how God uses Man to save the earth and I mean it. Those Mahogany Trees were planted by Boholanos in the 2KM stretch of Loboc and Bilar towns. It felt like I was not in Bohol.





8. Butterflies Conservation Center in Bilar
This destination was disappointing because there were no butterflies flying around. Okay, there were butterflies like a number of butterflies but not a lot to be called a sanctuary. Anyway, there was a nice area inside the center that captured everybody - we called it a Hobbit door and it was really nice seeing it.

9. Chocolate Hills from Carmen
I felt so sorry seeing a small number of Chocolate Hills. I remember these beautiful sceneries in prints when I was in Elementary. And last weekend was my chance and I was very excited but seeing them in person which I could only count by hands - very disappointing! I hope the government can do restore these natural creations.





10. Canawa Cold Spring in Candijay
For me, this can be called "Enchanted River of Bohol". The color of it's cold spring really looks the same to that of Enchanted River in Surigao Del Sur. One thing didn't work for me, there was no maintenance. People come and go and I even saw trashes in the banks they left behind. There was no trash bin in the entrance and I mean garbage cans are not visible. But generally, this is nice spot to visit and have cold dip.





11. Can-Umantad Falls in Candijay
Another favorite of mine - very astonishing!!! Such beauty! I really love watching water falls in waterfalls! Why not? They are cool and romantic! Agree? Check these photos if you do!






12. Anda Public Beach in Anda
We ended the 3-day tour in Anda Public Beach. We stayed in Little Miami Beach Resort which is for us a 5-star pointer. It's not that the Resort is luxurious but the customer service and rooms are recommendable especially when you travel with a buddy or in group of four. Try taking your dinner or lunch in beachfront at One Castle Bar and Restaurant. They had the best dishes in that area. But if you are tight in budget, try their Anda Food Center which offers a lot of choices like carenderia, topsilog and even Pizza and Burgers/Pasta.










13 Try Shot's in Bar
Enjoy night life at Shot's In Restobar in Jagna. They have one room for a videoke session but the whole place got a live band and some booze and good thing, chill in beach front baby!

Last year, Mactan Cebu International Airport(MCIA) has been named as the Best Airport in the Philippines by Sleepinginairports.net (SIA) and ranked 18th in Asia. This year or years to come, MCIA might become the country's only International Airport leaving the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) behind. And just yesterday, GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. (GMCAC) invited Media and Cebu Bloggersto experience the latest changes and updates from soon to be the world's friendliest airport gateway, Mactan Cebu International Airport.

We are just excited as you are, so here are the five changes and updates of Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) as of second quarter of this year.

1. Breastfeeding Room

The permanent location is situated right after the Final Security Check catering to the nursing needs of traveling mothers for both domestic and international passengers. The room features 4 private nursing cubicles complete with a couch and an ottoman on each cubicle; 1 lavatory; 2 baby changing tables with slide tables each; a microwave to reheat feeding bottles or baby food; a refrigerator to store breast milk and a push-button sliding door for ease and comfort.







2. Drinking Water Stations

This newly added update to our Airport is a big help to our beloved travelers who sometimes failed to buy bottled drinking water outside or got no luxury of purchasing "dollar-priced" drinking water inside the Airport. These water stations are available in International and Domestic pre-departure entrances.
 


 3. Plaza Premium Lounge

Plaza Premium Lounges is a collection of airport lounges, meet and greet services and airport hotels worldwide, that strive to make air travel easier and more pleasant. Lounges offer a variety of services, which range from complimentary food and beverages to showers, massages and business centers. (SIA) And just like other world-class Airports, MCIA got a newly built version situated at International Pre-Departures. This new facility is open 0400-0230 Daily.  4. Newly Opened Establishments

To expand the dining and shopping options for passengers and stakeholders, GMCAC opened additional retail and F&B outlets.

Where to purchase Gabii Sa Kabilin Ticket?
   
To join the Gabii sa Kabilin, guests must purchase a Gabii sa Kabilin ticket, which serves as an admission ticket for all destinations, one tartanilla (horse-drawn carriage) trip within the city’s old district, and unlimited rides of the Gabii sa Kabilin-designated buses.

Tickets will be available at the Gabii sa Kabilin 2016 participating museums and cultural sites.

The ticket price is Php150. Admission is free for children aged seven and below. The tickets can be purchased and reserved in advance at any of the participating destinations.

Last weekend, I traveled again and finally completed my Central Visayas trip at the Magical land of Siquijor. Together with Information Technology office mates, we journeyed to Siquijor via Southern Cebu Land trip and a side trip at the City of Gentle People, Dumaguete City. It was a hell of a trip and I mean a 9-hour bus (plus fastcraft) travel from Cebu to Negros Occidental. Famed as "The Jewel of the Sugar Island", Sipalay City is now gaining good reviews from Tourists and Locals with their beautiful islets and Beaches. This seaside City has a lot to offer such as Cliff Diving, Kayaking, Islets hopping and don't forget to taste their delectable foods.

Yes, Sipalay has a lot to offer! Famous of its sugary-powdered sand, Sugar Beach is one of the pride of Sipalay. It has two Caves which Tourists can visit, take photos and a quick dip. I could say this is the best white sand beach of the City but please do not compare this to Philippines' famous white sand beaches as Sugar Beach is unique from the others.

It was a hot and cold Saturday weekend! HOT!- As we were treated with Cebu's best Chicken Wings while enjoying the COLD night as it rained outside. So, we heard and confirmed from Mr. Coy Oliva himself, the owner and manager of Gibbs' Hot Wings, that the said Cebu Chicken Wings Hub is opening its third Branch in Robinsons Galleria Cebu at the end of September this year! Yes, Gibbs' Hot Wings is expanding to the South from Sto. Nino Village and Streetscape as its first and Second Branches respectively.

Uber, the world's leader of ridesharing app, announced the availability of cash payment options to all Cebu Riders starting Friday, July 8. Together with more or less 25 Cebu Bloggers, Uber came to Cebu to officially unveiled the good news to Cebuanos and Cebu Tourists. This makes Cebu, the first province in the Philippines to offer the convenience of Cash Payments to all Riders.

"We know that more and more riders in Cebu are choosing Uber because of its safe, affordable, and convenient rides," said Uber Philippines General Manager, Laurence Cua. "We hope the introduction of new payment optons, like cash, will give riders more choices to enjoy and pay for their Uber rides." he added.
