Per Philstar, Cebu is experiencing SMAZE, a mixture of Smoke and Haze, in the past few days and just today or lately, it's getting worst.  But per Engineer Oscar Tabada, Director of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration-Visayas, "there is light to moderate smaze hovering over the region based on their hourly observation and monitoring." In addition, PAGASA stations in Davao, Cagayan and Palawan have also reported “thick” presence of haze hovering over their areas. (Credit to Philstar)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
  1. The highly anticipated, limited edition, Starbucks annual planner will be available starting November 2, 2015. This year’s planner is collaboration between Starbucks and Moleskine®.
  2. A customer can avail of a Starbucks Christmas Traditions Promo card from November 2, 2015 to January 7, 2016 with no purchase required.
  3. One sticker is awarded for each Starbucks handcrafted beverage purchase. Holder must accumulate a total of eighteen (18) stickers, to redeem one (1) Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2016 Planner.Customer must present the Starbucks Christmas Traditions card to the barista upon purchase to get the corresponding number of stickers.
  4. A customer must complete the required number of stickers to qualify for the redemption of one (1) Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2016 Planner. A combination of up to two (2) promo cards will be allowed, provided that the 9 featured plus 9 core beverages have been purchased. Excess stickers for combined cards will be forfeited.
  5. Once all stickers are completed, customer submits the Starbucks Christmas Traditions Card/s to redeem one (1) Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2016 Planner from any Starbucks Coffee store in the Philippines.
  6. Tampering with and/or transferring of stickers to obtain the required number of stickers will render all promo cards null and void.
  7. Every purchase of a handcrafted beverage using a Starbucks Card will be awarded one (1) sticker and one (1) Beverage Star. Terms and conditions that apply to the Starbucks Card are available on www.starbucks.ph/card.
  8. Single receipt bulk purchase of food and other retail items (merchandise, whole bean, Starbucks VIA®) worth at least ₱7,000 will entitle the customer to one (1) Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2016 Planner. Combination of receipts is not allowed.

    Earlier this week, a lot of our Social Media Friends and acquaintances posted photos of them visiting Cebu's Sirao Flower Farm. Just like the famous destination, Temple of Leah, it trended immediately. But why it became a hit? Why not? Looking at those instagram-worthy scenes and fresh air around, that should be something! But seriously, People are just being supportive to our dear Flower Farmers as they give us a chance of experiencing this mini-Amsterdam Garden here in Cebu. In just PHP 20 that serves as your Entrance, you can get an unlimited photos with those beautiful Celosia Flowers. In addition, you can also ask them for a Flower Arrangement or buy their Flowers.

Here in Cebu, we celebrated it by going to Cemetery to visit our departed loveones and said some prayers while lighting some candles, we went to Church to attend Mass and we prepared foods and did lil feasts at home. But in Western tradition, during Halloween or All Hallows' Evening, children in neighborhood are dressing up for this occasion as their fave Horror icons, Super heroes, Cartoon Characters or Actors and Actresses. Here in our Island, we are so proud to see creative Cebuanos who nailed those Costume and Characters.

    McDonald’s 2015 Coca-Cola Glasses: Collect Them All 6 Classics!

    Christmas Season is definitely the best time of the year. Only on this season, you can witness the  glittering bright lights everywhere, decorated trees and ornaments that are proudly displayed in Parks and Malls. Also, this is the only Holiday that you're eager to hear children caroling with drums and “tansan tambourine” and singing joyful Christmas Songs in the neighborhood and inside the Church. The best part of this celebration is how people show generosity and love to each other; to officemates and workmates, to families, relatives and to friends and most especially to strangers.     I couldn't help but smile with these poor children, their stories were cute and adorable!

Together with other Two Food Bloggers of Cebu Bloggers Society, I finally tasted "Wok With Ef"Cakes, Cookies, Cupcakes, Pastries and Dishes. Inspired to a Chinese cuisine cooking show starring Stephen Yan, "Wok with Yan", Efryl Isidro's version Wok With EF is truly a must try by Cebuanos as she caters different kind of Desserts most especially this upcoming Yuletide Season.


    Ef prepares everything personally. She goes to the Market to pick and choose ingredients as she wants her products to be remembered by Customers as freshly done. Wok With Ef offers different kind of Desserts for orders and at the same time, she give Cebuanos the taste of "Tagalog" Dishes like Sisig, and others. Wok With Ef started in Manila where Ef delivered her Desserts and Sweets to big companies and some neighborhood friends who became avid fans of her masterpieces.     1. Blueberry Cheesecake.Unlike other commercialized versions of CheeseCake, Wok With Ef's version is not so sweet (in a better way) and we really can finish it in just a day or if you're in a movie marathon - it's best paired with brewed coffee or with ice cold lemon water.

    SM Seaside City Cebu Opens On November 27, 2015

    On November 27 (Friday), another huge Mall here in the Philippines, SM Seaside City Cebu will finally open its door to Cebuanos, Filipinos and Tourists. Having a gross floor area of 470,000 square meters, SM Seaside comes Fourth next to SM Megamall (570,000 sqm.), SM North Edsa (540,000 sqm.), and SM Mall of Asia (480,000 sqm.). It is located in South Road Properties, Cebu City.

     

    "There will also be a full-sized ice skating rink, cinemas and a bowling center" said Hans Sy, president of SM Prime Holdings Inc., in report posted by Sun.Star Cebu. Allegedly, there will be 8 cinemas in SM Seaside; 4 regular cinemas,  2 directors club , 1 large screen cinema and 1 centerstage. Unfortunately, there is no IMAX Theatre in Seaside.

    Why Did I Join Cebu Food Crawl ?

    Last November 27 to 30, Cebu Bloggers Society, a 7 year old Blogging Organization in Cebu successfully organized two events days before Christmas Month, CBS Talks : Best Blogging Practices and Cebu Food Crawl (CFC). With the support of SMART Communications, CBS got productive in those Four Days and was able to help in promoting Local Restaurants in the Tourism Industry. Do you know why FaceCebu joined CFC?


    Here are top reasons why FaceCebu joined the event and at the same time, suggestions to inspire Cebu Bloggers to attend the Second version on August 2016.

    Unlike any other organizations, CBS has been passionate to Blogging and to its members' development. The organization was founded by yours truly, Mark Monta on February 14, 2008 thinking I could helped Cebu in promoting its Tourism to the World. And I think, I was successful. The only Blogging Organization in Cebu that most Businesses support and believe. CBS never uses its members for self benefits but of course always seeing the greater good for everyone. If you're new to Blogging, CBS is the right family that you can go and learn more.

    Cebu Food Crawl was organized and managed by Cebu Bloggers Society with a special mention to Atty. Ethelbert Ouano of Nindotkaayo.com who headed the event. With the help of more than 20 Cebu-based Bloggers and 3 out of town Bloggers, the event went successful.

    CFC Participants were not complaintive about the excess eating they were doing. In fact, it was not the eating that bonded the participants, it's the camaraderie and the stories they shared during CFC. Some of the Food Crawlers were not from CBS but they showed support and love to the effort that the organization spent.

    Cebu Food Crawl Team did not choose commercialized Restaurants but the team especially selected Cebu's pride just like the best Hot Wings in town, Gibbs', the best Paella in Cebu, Ipar's and best Seafood Resto, Ocean Garden Restaurant to name a few.     4. Learn to control your cravings

    We all know Gluttony is a sin but that weekend was not an excemption. Yes, we had exceeded the feeding but since we did know that we ate almost hourly, we just tasted a bit of the bests. We learned to control our love to those foods and cravings were satisfied well.

For example, The Chocolate Ambassador, Ms. Raquel Choa who started as "Tablea Maker" in a young age and now, she's successful on Cebu's chocolate destinations, Ralfe Gourmet, The Chocolate Chamber (TCC) and Casa de Cacao. Indeed, She's the woman of inspiration and hope.

    A Christmas Vacation In Surigao Del Sur

    They said they need a Vacation to escape life but less they know vacation gives us life, introduces us to life and most importantly, refreshes us to be more ready for the next battle of life. So, as our yearly routine every December, my officemates and I go to Local destinations as we unleash some work stress - last weekend, we enjoyed a very wavy Christmas break at Surigao Del Sur.




    DAY 1 at Florland Resort in Bislig



    We landed in Tandag Airport just after lunch because we had a delayed flight and we did not complain since our purchased tickets were in promo. Those feelings of excitement and fear filled me as we were heading to our temporary home for a night. But those Natural scenes near the highway vanished those weird feelings combinations. We stayed at Florland Resort which is situated in Bislig City. It's not a super nice Resort but they offer cheap accommodations plus a free breakfast while feeling the fresh air in the morning breeze.

    Day 2 at "I Love Bislig" spot, Tinuy-an Falls and Enchanted River



    Woke up early as our call time was 6 in the morning. Our Van service came late at 7 but it was okay as we were in vacation and we need not to be stressed. On our way to our first destination, Tinuy-an Falls, we saw the famous huge letters "I Love Bislig" Spot in their park. We decided to jump out and took some photos. Of course, nobody won't believe that we visited Surigao Del Sur if we didn't get some click from our Cameras. After that, we then headed directly to Bislig's pride, Tinuy-an Falls which is located at Barangay Borboanan. For me, this attraction is the very must-visit spot in the province. This waterfalls is wide as it spans at 95 meters wide. Unlike other waterfalls, this wide "curtain-like" Tinuy-an Falls has big green trees in its surroundings which made her very appealing to the eyes. You will surely fall in love with Tinuy-an.






    Next stop was Hinatuan's Enchanted River. Why Enchanted? The river is very clear with its Blue-green color that flows to the Pacific Ocean. It was named as Enchanted River after diplomat Modesto Farolan described the said river as "Rio Encantado". In addition, locals said fairies and mermaids touch the river with their power those making its color echanted. Anyhow, during that visit, I was not impressed. The clear and color qualities of the river are still there, it's just during weekends, the place is overcrowded and for me, it distruct the beauty of the river.

    To end Day 2, we stayed at Mac Arthur's Place which can also offer Island Hopping to at least Four Britania Islets.

    Day 3 at Britania Islands



    For PHP 1,500 (15 persons), you can visit Britania islets via Pumpboat. Last weekend, we were lucky to play with Sands under the heat of the Sun in three Britania Islets namely Hagonoy Islet, Buslon Islet and Hiyor-Hiyoran Islet. The sands are not that fine but it's the collection of the islets from afar that will mesmerize you and will turn on your adrenaline for some water adventures. Among the three mentioned islets, I definitely love Hagonoy since it looks like an island that made up of white sands, you could not see any rocks above it and those minimal  number of Coconut Trees look like an intentional landscaped masterpiece.

    After that 2-3 hours Islets hopping, we set ourselves to our last home, Lizvil Beach Resort, Cagwait. The place is not that good as they only offer dormitory-type of lodging but the bright thing is, the place is beach front and I mean it's in the middle of wide white sands beach with amazing waves good for surfing.

    Sweet and Spicy Day Two of Cebu Food Crawl

    Finally, Cebu Food Crawl brought me to Cebu's Hot Wings Destination, Gibbs'!!! The owner, a good friend, Coy Oliva invited me many times but due to work schedules and events, I was not able to push through but thanks to Cebu Food Crawl, I finally tasted five levels of hotness of their Wings namely Hot, Original, Insanely Hot, 2Intense and Freakin Hot. Aside from Chicken Wings, Gibbs' offers spaghetti and meatballs, and Carbonara which could definitely filled up your tummy. In addition, Gibbs' give a comfy space to friends and barkada who plan to spend the night with spiciness of Chicken Wings and coldness of beers and their signature, Brew Kettle. At the end, you can cool down with their own Gibbs' Gelatos - try Mango flavor!

    Originated in Latin American Cultures, Noche Buena is the biggest feast for Christmas Season and a special dinner during Christmas Eve. On the other hand, Media Noche is also a lavish feast as family and friends gather together to celebrate an evening before New Year.     BREAKING NEWS : Stolen Baby From Cebu Hospital Found, Suspect - A Call Center Agent

    Last Monday, a lady dressed as a Nurse took a 2-day old baby boy who was scheduled for vaccination in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC). Earlier today, the incident was reported in National Television (ABS-CBN) and the Hospital is willing to give a PHP 100,000 reward to those who can find the baby and the suspect. On Tuesday night, the suspected kidnapper was found in Sitio Fatima, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City. As reported by Cebu Daily News, the kidnapper, Melissa Londres is a Call Center Agent who claimed that she gave birth to the said baby. But the father, Jonathan Celadenia, confirmed the baby is his son.

    Melissa Londres together with his boyfriend, Philip Wilfred Almeria were arrested the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
